Cheers to the New Year and all of my lovely readers! I hope everyone had an exciting time ringing in 2013 last night, or should I say this morning? The start of a new year is rewarding. It’s a new beginning filled with promise and hope, a fresh start, not to be too dramatic. Sometimes we lose sight of this in the midst of all the champagne and glitter.
I’ve never been a big fan of New Year’s resolutions. Yes, I still make a few every year, but that doesn’t mean I keep them… Or that I don’t continue making resolutions throughout the year. You see, the idea of only bettering yourself, life, etc. on January 1 is quite silly. What happens if you decide to start eating healthy on June 15? Well, you’ll most likely just make the change without even thinking about it as a resolution. However, the chances of you actually keeping that promise in the middle of the year are extremely lower than they are on New Year’s. Interesting, huh? I suppose our minds have this idea that you left the habit in the previous year. Whatever it is, we will use it to our advantage. I challenge all of you to create at least one New Year’s resolution if you haven’t already. It can only being positive changes, so it’s worth a try!
Here’s my list. I’ve never really written them all down. I usually just have them in my head, but writing each down changes things. Makes it a bit more official. I especially challenge you to the first one on my list.
So, go grab some paper and a pen and write down all of the things you want to achieve before the clock strikes 12 a.m. on 2014. And don’t forget never erase any of them, but always add throughout the year. Happy New Year!
